Having known Raewyn since about 1998 I decided on using her firm for a new house in Dunkirk Estate. I secured the site in February 2013 and met Raewyn on site for a quick visit to view the site. Having an idea on the scale of house I wanted and knowing only that I wanted: raw timber, glass, and off shutter concrete Raewyn was able to conceptualise and create sketch plans within 2 months for submission to the Dunkirk architectural committee. These were passed in the April, final municipal drawings were created with 4 weeks and these were submitted for approval in May 2013. They were accepted without comment and construction commenced in late July 2013. A 5 month time period from conception to commencement is impressive.
Evolution provided all working details and as construction happened during a very difficult time for Raewyn her team kept the process going smoothly. There were effectively no variations on site, every detail worked.
Construction was completed in May 2015 and the result is a house that is proving to be extremely pleasant to live in. It’s the 5th house I’ve lived in and easily the most comfortable. The scale and proportion work and added features such as sun control handle the environment and still maximise the view.
